A Trip to the Botanical Garden

The weather was fine, I was not working, so I planned a trip to the Botanical Garden. The Garden is part of the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and shows plants from all around the world. My favorite part is the Alpinum where plants from the mountains grow.

Toivo put on his boots and off we went. We (okay, I) had a coffee first, as the Garden was still closed.

Then we took the bus to the Garden. Toivo was excited.

It was in april so many flowers were blooming. So beautiful!

And lots of trees for climbing!

"Mom, I'm over here!"

"It's like walking in a sea of flowers!"

In the Garden there is also art: sculptures. I like them, they are interesting and give the Garden something special.

And now to the Mountains!

"Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold."

"Look, Mom! Those are really tiny!"

"This way!"

"Mom, come one!" Up, up, until we are at the highest point.

There are so many different flowers to look at.

Orchids from New Zealand!

It's wonderful in the sun.

"This must be the way to the sun!"

It is, for sure.

After all that walking in the warm sunlight, we took a paus in the shadow and enjoyed the views.

It was a wonderful day, very relaxing, full of fun.
